Swirl marks are groups of fine scratches that show around a bright reflection. Dirty towels, automatic-wash contact, dry wiping, poor washing, and poor polishing can add them.

Many light swirls on glossy paint can improve with a fine polish. Deeper marks may need stronger correction, and some should remain to preserve the finish.

Keep them from coming back

Rinse loose grit, use clean wash media, keep dirty towels off paint, and dry with clean soft material and light pressure. Protection may ease cleaning but does not make rough washing harmless.
