The direct answer
Remove valuables and loose personal items, tell the provider about known damage and problem areas, and confirm the appointment details. You do not need to clean the car before paying someone to clean it.
Before the appointment
- Save the written package, price, add-ons, and expected result.
- Photograph existing damage and point out loose trim, warning lights, leaks, repairs, wraps, coatings, and sensitive items.
- Remove money, medicine, documents, garage remotes, work gear, and anything private.
- Ask how child seats should be handled; reinstall them according to their instructions yourself unless a qualified service is agreed.
- Leave enough fuel or charge for agreed movement, but do not hand over unrelated account access.
- For mobile work, confirm legal space, shade or weather plan, water, power, keys, pets, gates, and building rules.
What not to do
Do not hide a biological spill, sharp object, pest, leak, or safety issue. Do not remove fixed trim or seats just to help. Do not assume the provider will store valuables or remember an unwritten request.
At handoff
Walk around the car when practical. Confirm contact method, approval needed for price changes, pickup or completion window, and what happens if a concern is found. Clear preparation protects both sides without turning the visit into advertising or pressure.
