How Much Does Mobile Car Detailing Cost?

There is no honest one-price answer. Learn which scope, vehicle, condition, and site details shape a mobile detailing quote.

The direct answer

A useful mobile detailing quote depends on what will be cleaned, the vehicle’s size and condition, the work location, and the result you want. DashDrive does not publish a market average until real, sufficiently aggregated marketplace data is available.

Start with scope, not the package name

“Detail,” “full detail,” and “premium detail” are not universal specifications. Two providers can use the same label for different work. Ask for a written list of included interior areas, exterior steps, protection products, and exclusions.

  • Interior only, exterior only, or both
  • Routine maintenance or condition recovery
  • Decontamination, polishing, stain work, pet-hair work, or odor treatment
  • Protection product and surfaces covered

What can change the quote

A provider may need condition photos or an in-person inspection before confirming specialized work. That is more reliable than a price based only on whether the vehicle is a car, truck, or SUV.

  • Cabin size, seating rows, cargo areas, and wheel complexity
  • Soil, pet hair, stains, sap, overspray, or other condition-specific work
  • Water, power, parking, access, weather, and travel requirements
  • Time-sensitive requests or add-on services

How to compare estimates

Compare the promised work and the assumptions behind it. A lower number is not necessarily a better value if important steps are excluded, and a higher number is not automatically better without a clear scope.

  • Ask whether the estimate can change after inspection
  • Confirm taxes, travel, disposal, or other charges
  • Ask what outcome is realistic for stains or paint defects
  • Confirm cancellation and weather policies

A better question to ask

Instead of asking only “What is the average price?”, describe the vehicle, its condition, the areas that matter most, the work location, and the outcome you want. That gives a professional enough context to recommend an appropriate service rather than guessing.

Frequently asked questions

Why does DashDrive not show an average price?

DashDrive will add pricing guidance only when it can be based on authoritative, sufficiently aggregated marketplace data. A made-up or weakly supported average would be misleading.

Can a provider quote from photos?

Photos may help, but some conditions require inspection. Ask whether the quote is fixed or an estimate subject to a documented assessment.
